To a blind man there is no difference between day and night

एक अंधे व्यक्ति के लिए दिन और रात में कोई अंतर नहीं होता। उसके लिए बाहरी प्रकाश का कोई महत्व नहीं। उसके भीतर ज्ञान का प्रकाश प्रबल होता है। अंधों के लिए उनका शरीर व्यर्थ है। क्योंकि उनकी भौतिक आँखें देख नहीं सकतीं, इसलिए उनकी आध्यात्मिक आँख अत्यंत प्रभावी होनी चाहिए।

Bhagwan Nityananda refers to the state of Gyanis (liberated beings) who are fully present in their state of pure awareness, where they can no more relate to any sort of differences in the outside world. Their inner state is such that there is no difference between anything in the outers states – good or bad, saint or a dacoit, gold or stone, rich or poor, worthy or unworthy, merit or demerit, known or stranger, happiness or sorrow, life or death… just like for a blind man there is no difference between the day and night. To the blind, any name or form (naama/roopa) is useless, as they rely more on their inner knowing. The more stronger the physical eyes (5 senses) that leads to the outer world, the lesser powerful the inner eye (6th sense or inner knowing) that leads to the inner world. The more the dual experiences through the physical eyes, the lesser the nondual existence though the inner eye. Thus, he mentions that says that since the blind cannot see anymore, their inner eye must be more effective. This example is obvious to point to the state of Gyanis/Avadhutas whose remain absorbed in their inner being, because the inner light of Jnana (inner knowing/wisdom) is strong in them.

भगवान नित्यानंद ज्ञानियों (मुक्त प्राणियों) की उस अवस्था का वर्णन करते हैं जो पूर्णतः शुद्ध चेतना में लीन होते हैं, जहाँ वे बाह्य जगत के किसी भी प्रकार के भेद से संबंध नहीं रख पाते। उनकी आंतरिक अवस्था ऐसी होती है कि बाह्य जगत में किसी भी चीज़ में कोई भेद नहीं होता – अच्छा या बुरा, संत या डाकू, सोना या पत्थर, धनी या गरीब, योग्य या अयोग्य, गुण या दोष, परिचित या अजनबी, सुख या दुःख, जीवन या मृत्यु… ठीक वैसे ही जैसे एक अंधे व्यक्ति के लिए दिन और रात में कोई भेद नहीं होता। अंधे के लिए कोई भी नाम या रूप (नाम/रूप) व्यर्थ है, क्योंकि वे अपने अंतर्ज्ञान पर अधिक निर्भर रहते हैं। बाह्य जगत की ओर ले जाने वाली भौतिक आँखें (पाँच इंद्रियाँ) जितनी अधिक शक्तिशाली होती हैं, अंतर्लोक की ओर ले जाने वाली अंतर्दृष्टि (छठी इंद्रिय या अंतर्ज्ञान) उतनी ही कम शक्तिशाली होती है। भौतिक आँखों से जितने अधिक द्वैत अनुभव होते हैं, अंतर्दृष्टि से उतना ही कम अद्वैत अनुभव होता है। इस प्रकार, वे कहते हैं कि चूंकि अंधे अब देख नहीं सकते, इसलिए उनकी आंतरिक दृष्टि अधिक प्रभावी होनी चाहिए। यह उदाहरण स्पष्ट रूप से ज्ञानियों/अवधूतों की स्थिति को दर्शाता है, जो अपने अंतर्मन में लीन रहते हैं, क्योंकि उनमें ज्ञान का प्रकाश प्रबल होता है।
