Ramalinga Swamigal or Vallalar who turned into Light

Ramalinga Swamigal lived teaching Oneness and played a great role in eradicating the caste and religious differences in South India. He began a movement called “Samarasa Suddha Sanmarga Sathiya Sangam,” which centralises whole spirituality to the philosophy of love, compassion, purity, simplicity, charity, compassion and pure wisdom.

This movement gained prominence not only because of his profound teachings but also through his exemplary way of life, and this continues to inspire the real spiritual seekers of truth and light.

He did not encourage ritualistic worship, but took the monotheistic perspective by simplifying the whole spirituality to worshiping the light and nothing else. For this, he inspired seekers to use a lit lamp and meditating on the radiant flame – the jyoti. This light is the symbol of inner light – symbol of eternal omnipotence of the Divine.

He always guided the people on the path of grace, free from voilence. Though his lectures, poetry and essays, he conveyed the message of universal brotherhood as the only real relationship must maintain among each other and all living beings.

He aimed at the unity of all religions, as ordained by the Lord. He advised the people to set aside all their differences and live in amity and peace. He called on humanity to follow the universal path that is free from obsessions of religion, faith, caste and creed.

His shadowless body moved around creating many spontaneous miracles, the greatest miracle being the coverting into light. These miracles are not of a category falling within “occultism” or siddhis of Yogis by pursuit of yoga, that he always shunned or avoided but they are a representation of his siddhi, to be in tune with the divine will.

The Highest Samadhi – becoming Light

On January 30, 1872, Ramalinga Swamigal took out the lamp which was kept in his room, placed it outside and and instructed the seekers to consider it as the God of real worship following the path of love and kindness towards all living beings, and thus attain the siddhi that he had attained – the light body – the true immortality.

Asking people not to open the door, he locked himself inside the room that he lived in and was never seen again. He turned into light.

The words of Vallalar that echoes in hearts are:

“Neither shall I utter falsehood, nor do I exaggerate but utter truth.”

• He rejected rituals and caste-based discrimination, promoting vegetarianism and kindness.

• Vallalar introduced the concept of • Arutperunjothi (Supreme Grace Light), the eternal light of divine grace.

• He emphasized the importance of inner spiritual enlightenment over external rituals.

• Established Sathya Gnana Sabai by founding Sathya Gnana Sabai (Hall of True Knowledge) at Vadalur in Tamil Nadu.

• The hall does not house idols but only a lamp representing the Supreme Light, symbolizing equality and universal truth.

रामलिंग स्वामीगल या वल्ललार

उन्होंने 5 अक्टूबर 1823 से 30 जनवरी 1874 तक मानव शरीर धारण किया और दक्षिण भारत में उन्हें लोकप्रिय रूप से वल्ललार के नाम से जाना जाता है। वे तमिल संतों के महान वंश “ज्ञान सिद्धों” से जुड़े थे, जहाँ ज्ञान का अर्थ है ‘उच्चतर ज्ञान’।

रामलिंग स्वामीगल ने एकता का उपदेश देते हुए जीवन व्यतीत किया और दक्षिण भारत में जाति और धार्मिक भेदभाव को समाप्त करने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई। उन्होंने “समरसा शुद्ध सन्मार्ग सत्य संगम” नामक एक आंदोलन शुरू किया, जो संपूर्ण आध्यात्मिकता को प्रेम, करुणा, पवित्रता, सादगी, दान, सहानुभूति और शुद्ध ज्ञान के दर्शन पर केंद्रित करता है।

यह आंदोलन न केवल उनके गहन उपदेशों के कारण बल्कि उनके अनुकरणीय जीवन शैली के कारण भी प्रसिद्ध हुआ, और यह सत्य और प्रकाश के सच्चे आध्यात्मिक साधकों को प्रेरित करता रहता है।

उन्होंने कर्मकांडीय पूजा को प्रोत्साहित नहीं किया, बल्कि एकेश्वरवादी दृष्टिकोण अपनाते हुए संपूर्ण आध्यात्मिकता को प्रकाश की पूजा तक सीमित कर दिया। इसके लिए उन्होंने साधकों को जलते हुए दीपक का उपयोग करने और ज्योति की चमकती लौ पर ध्यान लगाने के लिए प्रेरित किया। यह प्रकाश आंतरिक प्रकाश का प्रतीक है – ईश्वर की शाश्वत सर्वशक्तिमानता का प्रतीक।

उन्होंने हमेशा लोगों को हिंसा से मुक्त, कृपा के मार्ग पर मार्गदर्शन दिया। अपने प्रवचनों, कविताओं और निबंधों के माध्यम से उन्होंने सार्वभौमिक भाईचारे का संदेश दिया, जिसे सभी जीवित प्राणियों के बीच एकमात्र वास्तविक संबंध माना जाना चाहिए।

उन्होंने भगवान द्वारा निर्धारित सभी धर्मों की एकता का लक्ष्य रखा। उन्होंने लोगों को अपने सभी मतभेदों को त्यागकर सद्भाव और शांति से रहने की सलाह दी। उन्होंने मानवता से धर्म, आस्था, जाति और पंथ के मोह से मुक्त सार्वभौमिक मार्ग का अनुसरण करने का आह्वान किया।

उनका छायाहीन शरीर अनेक स्वतःस्फूर्त चमत्कार करता हुआ विचरण करता था, जिनमें सबसे बड़ा चमत्कार प्रकाश में रूपांतरित होना था। ये चमत्कार “रहस्यवाद” या योग के अभ्यास से प्राप्त योगियों की सिद्धियों की श्रेणी में नहीं आते, जिनसे वे हमेशा दूर रहते थे या जिनसे बचते थे, बल्कि ये उनकी सिद्धि का प्रतिनिधित्व करते हैं, यानी दिव्य इच्छा के साथ सामंजस्य स्थापित करना।

सर्वोच्च समाधि – प्रकाश का स्वरूप बनना

30 जनवरी, 1872 को रामलिंग स्वामीगल ने अपने कमरे में रखा दीपक बाहर निकाला और साधकों को निर्देश दिया कि वे इसे सच्ची पूजा का देवता मानें और सभी जीवों के प्रति प्रेम और दया का मार्ग अपनाएं, जिससे उन्हें वही सिद्धि प्राप्त हो सके जो उन्होंने प्राप्त की थी – प्रकाश शरीर – सच्ची अमरता।

लोगों से दरवाजा न खोलने का अनुरोध करते हुए, उन्होंने स्वयं को अपने कमरे में बंद कर लिया और फिर कभी दिखाई नहीं दिए।

वल्ललर के वे शब्द जो हृदयों में गूंजते हैं:

“मैं न तो झूठ बोलूंगा, न ही अतिशयोक्ति करूंगा, बल्कि सत्य ही बोलूंगा।”

वल्ललर की शिक्षाओं के प्रमुख पहलू ~

• करुणा और प्रेम

• सार्वभौमिक बंधुत्व

• उनका जीवन मिशन “जीव करुणाम” (सभी जीवों के प्रति करुणा) में निहित था।

• उन्होंने रीति-रिवाजों और जाति-आधारित भेदभाव को अस्वीकार करते हुए शाकाहार और दयालुता को बढ़ावा दिया।

• वल्ललर ने धार्मिक या सामाजिक बाधाओं से मुक्त समाज की कल्पना की।

• उनकी शिक्षाएं धर्मों और जातियों से परे, सभी प्राणियों के बीच सद्भाव का समर्थन करती हैं।

• वल्ललर ने अरुतपेरुंजोति (सर्वोच्च कृपा का प्रकाश), दिव्य कृपा के शाश्वत प्रकाश की अवधारणा प्रस्तुत की।

• उन्होंने बाहरी रीति-रिवाजों के बजाय आंतरिक आध्यात्मिक ज्ञान के महत्व पर बल दिया।

• उन्होंने तमिलनाडु के वदलूर में सत्य ज्ञान सभा (सच्चे ज्ञान का हॉल) की स्थापना करके सत्य ज्ञान सभा की स्थापना की।

• इस हॉल में मूर्तियाँ नहीं हैं, बल्कि केवल एक दीपक है जो सर्वोच्च प्रकाश का प्रतिनिधित्व करता है, जो समानता और सार्वभौमिक सत्य का प्रतीक है।
