That is why Ramana Maharishi says “Grace does the work and saints take the credit.”

Grace is doing it. Where is that grace? Is it only in the outside person? Is it only in a saint? Is it only inside a temple? Then you have got it wrong. Because if you feel it is in a temple or ashram, then all the time you need to run to the temple or ashram. If you feel it in in a mantra, then you will all the time you need to chant that mantra.

For you it might be Ram and for somebody else it may be Shiva or Hanuman. For somebody it is Allah. For somebody Wahe Guru. Whatever you believe in very strongly, it works. What works? The belief!

That is why I keep sharing dohas of Kabir Das. He breaks all myths. To beyond holy words, deep into its consciousness. Otherwise you will remain with the words and images.

But I am trying to prompt a deep introspection in you, on what are you doing. Everybody is following something and you just follow that. Thus it is difficult to understand that there is something beyond the photos, the bodies, the objects, the yantras, the mantras. Find out what is it that empowers the Yantra.

Find out that which is giving power to the mantra. Have you ever thought of it? We are fond of only Namah Shivaya or Hare Krishna or Wahe Guru or La ilaha illallah or Alleluiah.  Namah shivay won’t work for a muslim just like La illah Illalah won’t work for a hindu. Alleluiah won’t work for a Sikh.

Why? Because they don’t BELIEVE in it! The faith in that mantra. That mantra does has the power to connect you to the potency behind it, but only if your belief and faith is strong in it. Belief and faith!

There is consciousness in every mantra. And it is not just a holy word. Even in what I am speaking here, it is a mantra. If you go beyond these words you will right now get connected. Because it is flowing through the active consciousness in the active words. There is something that is brimming. There is grace that is brimming. Even in the words. But if you have the awareness you will tap it. Otherwise these are simply words, useful to some, useless to other – again, based on your belief and faith in what is being said!

A Sufi poet says, that it is foolish to consider the word water as water. What can the word water do?

Hazrat Zaheen Shah Taji beautifully quotes ~

Maula-Maula laakh pukaare, Maula haath na aaye
Lafzon se hum khel rahe hain, maa’na haath na aaye
(Always calling the lord’s name, does not his nature reveal
As we only with sounds play, while the named stays concealed)

Jo pani ke naam ko pani jaane, voh naadaani hai
Pani-pani rat’te rat’te, pyaasa hi mar jaaye
(To confuse water with its name, is foolish and awry
Chanting ’water’ all day long, the thirsty dies thirsty)

Shola-shola rat’te-rat’te,lab pe aanch na aaye
Ik chingaari lab par rakh lo, lab fauran jal jaaye
(And to say ’fire’ many a time, does not the burn the mouth
But put a spark upon the lips, the mouth will instantly feel the blaze)

Ism pe Qaane hone waala aur musamma khone waala
Kaam na karne waala moorakh bas naam se ji bahlaye
(So he who’s content with lowly signs, will always miss the signified
Fools are the lazy who instead of working deeper, only keep themselves entertained with words)

Farid Ayaz beautifully sings that any amount of shouting water, water, water by the thirsty will not quench their thirst. Similarly, you may shout Ram, Ram, Ram, Ram. Shiva, Shiva, Shiva or your Guru’s name. What is going to happen?

The day you are able to catch the power that brings words into existence, you will no more need words. The day you don’t need words formality is gone from your life. Easily grace is accessible to you. Otherwise you will have to sit with Yantra Tantra Mantra. Good for beginners to get to hold on to something as they are deluded at this stage, but not for the matured seekers.

Good for those who say that I cannot generate devotion in me without looking at a hill, without looking at my Guru’s or God’s photo. Starters cannot realise that they are all just the ignition to what they are really seeking.

To connect directly to what they are seeking is what awareness can do. That is the power of awareness. That’s why I am saying. Awaken this awareness in you. Strengthen this awareness. This awareness is your Guru. Inner Guru. Viveka it is called. If your Viveka is sharp, then you don’t need anything. If your Viveka is dull, then you need everything from outside. The question is how long are you going to need support from outside.

When you say I still need support from outside. I still need. You are simply saying, “My intellect is still dull. I need time.” Then, it is fine and okay.

But at some point in evolution one will question, “How long?” How are you going to sit with? Till the end of life? To remain feeling that I need something from outside to empower me, we haven’t learnt the game. We have not been a real student yet. We have not understood the science of it yet.  We have not understood the whole idea of spirituality. We have not understood why the Guru came in life. We have not understood the purpose of scriptures. We will remain worshiping the tools only. We have missed the whole point.

What is the diety or Guru without consciousness. Just dead bodies. You remove consciousness from all these things. A shavadada chaitanya (inert consciousness). What is a body without chaitanya? You say, “Oh, but they are awakened.” So what is preventing you from awakening and realising you are consciousness too and not that body. You remain as a body, you will only connect to other bodies.

Do you think the Guru was born free? No. They have worked their way out. Right? All Gurus have had their Gurus also, right?  But at some point they have also become independent. Some point of time. They have taken the help from their gurus, they are grateful. That’s it. But they have become nirlamba (free of clinging). That is why they are able to serve others who are salamba (clinging on to). But I don’t know how many of them can make those clingers also nirlamba, like how they are – free. Now, that is a challenge in modern days.

So, change this perspective. Change this whole belief. It’s a programmed belief. If you believe strongly that something outside only can give you. It’s not that it will not work. It will work. But it is like you are giving the keys to somebody else, to keep pressing the ignition in you. Everytime the ignition is pressed in you, you feel thrilled. But my question is, when will the engine start where after no ignition is needed?

I am teaching you how to put the own keys and unlock yourself. That’s all. Simple. One thing is believe that you don’t have the skill to hit the ignition and someone else only has to keep doing it for you. The other is to learn to unlock yourself.

That’s it. Simple. So this power to heal. Power to transform. Power to purify. Everything comes if you want it.

That is what I told in that comment to that lady. Your decision. Your decision to heal yourself is what matters. You can only heal. You can only transform your life if you decide. Not if your Guru decides. If you don’t decide to change. Your Guru is helpless.

Show me one instance. Show me one example where the disciple doesn’t want healing, doesn’t want transformation… and the Guru has forcefully healed or changed that person. Show me one instance. No way. Until I want it, I cannot have. Because that’s where my karma is.

If my karma entitles me to change, I will have the willingness to change. If my karma doesn’t allow me, no power from outside can change it. So who’s the decision maker? You. So you might come here and sit. You might learn a lot of things. You might understand. You might get awakened. You might get transformed. Illumined. You might become independent. Who did it? Who takes the credit?

You! Because you decided, it happened. This platform cannot change you if you don’t decide. No platform can. Get this very, very clear. There is no point sitting and praising and praising and praising your systems. Hail! This is great and that is great. Great. But when are you going to be great? Please understand. Whenever you say somebody is great, you are useless.

You are subconsciously telling I am weak. Subconsciously you are emitting a vibration telling that everything outside of me is powerful. I am helpless. That is what you will become. Not by what you say. By what you feel. You feel powerless. You will become powerless. You are always constantly giving your power to someone, something, something, something. To paths, saviours, families, societies, leaders, systems, religion, universities, ideals…

What will happen? You will remain powerless. That is how humans get controlled by all the system. Power is in this deep realisation. This deep awareness, beyond all programmings. That is where healing lies.
